Design Trends for 2015

With a new year comes a new look! Here are some of our favorite ideas from around the web, so that you can find inspiration to make your home fabulous.

1. Add Marsala, 2015’s Pantone Color of the Year

An earthy tone that reminds us of the perfect glass of wine, Marsala is the perfect accent color to update any room with a warm shade and plenty of style.

2. You Can’t Go Wrong with Blue

As we scoured the Internet for the best ideas, we kept coming across bloggers discussing the color blue. BoConcept in New York went as far as to call the shade the “New Black,” and we couldn’t agree more. Blue is classic yet versatile, and even pairs well with Marsala.

3. Accent with Gold

As Business Insider reports, Zillow Digs has announced that homeowners are adding gold fixtures in 2015. But don’t only think of new bathroom fixtures! Votives, sconces, vases and other décor items add gold pops of color and mixing metals adds depth and ambience to any room.

4. Try the Contemporary Look

Inspired by the Paris runways during Fashion Week, Conde Nast Traveler thinks that loose geometric lines are going to be appearing in home décor. Whether it’s through accent furniture pieces or even painted accent walls, these bold designs really update a room’s look and prove how on-trend you can be.

5. Mix Up Black & White

As South Africa’s Life & Leisure points out, black and white are fundamentals to interior design. This year’s trend, however, encourages the use of softer shades of black and white that create a more relaxed ambience, without compromising the sophistication and glamour of the décor.

In typical Vanderpump style, Sur Restaurant and Bar on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles pulls off what so many lounges and restaurants around the world try desperately to create – a setting that just screams style, intrigue, luxury and indulgence … all in an edgy, fashion-forward and visually stunning approach. Subtle yet bold, and romantic to the core, the design of Sur makes you want to sit and stay and spend time. Cozy corners, intimate den-like pockets, lush tropical foliage … the space is purely gorgeous.
It’s obvious that thought went into every aspect as Sur was envisioned and developed – from the dim lighting to the eclectic mix of furnishings, the fabulous playlist, the sexy staff and the overall sense of home… it all creates a setting that really is tough to match anywhere. And rarely do we come across an outlet that gets top scores for pulling off an on-track bar scene as well as superb food quality and presentation. Sur does it all. Grand kudos and a big hoorah to the team at this hot-spot. Pop Culture worthy in all ways!
